They offer furniture with classic and unique designs that are made to be long-lasting and high-quality. Poly & Bark is devoted to bringing their clients excellent furniture at a reasonable price, and they have a pretty impressive return policy as well.

Article is another entirely online furniture retailer, and their site launched in 2013. Their goal is to work directly with manufacturers to deliver unique, durable furniture at an unrivaled value.
There’s also a bit of mystery surrounding Article’s brand. There’s very little information provided on their About Me page, and even less information about this brand on other internet forums.
What is known about Article is that they offer a variety of home furnishings and aim to provide their customers with high-quality furniture for a low price point.

Poly & Bark has two home office desks available on their website. One is made of and finished in the color of solid walnut, while the other is made of solid oak. Each desk appears to be very sturdy and durable, however they have a very minimalist design.
The walnut desk features two small drawers, while the oak desk doesn’t have any. Their prices are anywhere from $599 and $499, respectively.
Article Home Office Desks:
Article has twelve home office desks available, and they have a range of styles available. You can find some with a minimalist design while others look more modern and contemporary.
Their desks are made of wood, rattan, glass, and metal. Their lowest priced desk is around $299, and their highest price desk is $1,199.
Poly & Bark Sofas:
Since Poly & Bark is supposed to be the provider of “The Internet’s Favorite Sofas,” it makes sense to see how their sofas compare to Article’s. Poly & Barks’ sofas mostly follow a mid-century modern style, and they have dozens of options available.
They have three options for materials, which are dark wood, fabric, and leather. You can find sofas in a range of colors, including black, white, green, blue, brown, and grey. They have couches that can seat 2, 3, or 4 people, and have a pretty wide price range.
The sofas available through Poly & Bark range in price between $800-$3000.
Article Sofas:
Article has a much larger range of materials available for their sofas, and they also have a larger variety of sofas than Poly & Bark does. The materials they use for their sofas include dark wood, light wood, fabric, leather, metal, rattan, and velvet.
You can find couches that are black, blue, brown, grey, green, orange, white, and yellow through Article. Their couches can seat as few as two and as many as five people.
Their sofa’s prices range between $1,149-$4,459.
Poly & Bark Beds:
Buying a bed online is a great way to ensure you’re getting one made of the exact materials you prefer. Poly & Bark makes that easy for you by offering beds made of a range of materials, including dark wood, light wood, leather, and fabric.
They only offer bedframes that fit queen and king sized mattresses at this time. However, they do offer a good variety of color options, including black, blue, white, and brown.
Poly & Bark’s beds range in price from $800-$1,700.
Article Beds:
Article again provides a wider variety of material options than Poly & Bark when it comes to their beds. Through this retailer, you can find beds made of dark wood, light wood, fabric, leather, velvet, and metal. Their beds can fit queen, king, and California king mattresses.
This retailer doesn’t offer quite as many color options as their competitor, but you can find beds in white, gray, brown, and black on their website.
Article’s beds range in price from $499-$1,599.
Which Furniture Brand Uses The Best Materials?
Poly & Bark and Article tend to use many of the same materials for their furniture. Most of the furniture through both retailers is made of either solid wood, fabric, or leather. Each of these materials are fairly high quality and can last for generations if they’re taken care of properly.
Article does have furniture made of other materials, including velvet and metal. These materials aren’t considered quite as upscale as leather or solid wood, but they can still look nice and last for a long time.
It seems that Poly & Bark has a more dedicated emphasis on selling furniture made from high-quality materials only, while Article provides more of a range.
Is Poly & Bark or Article More Affordable?
Since both brands are purely online retailers, they’re able to keep their prices lower than companies who need to afford brick and mortar stores. When you compare the price ranges of specific categories of furniture, such as their sofas, home office desks, and beds, you’ll see that Poly & Bark typically has a higher price range.
Article may have more affordable options than Poly & Bark, but this is most likely due to their broader range of materials.

Does Poly & Bark or Article Have A Better Return Policy?
Buying furniture online can be a source of worry for some people, and you may be concerned about how to return the furniture if you decide that it doesn’t fit in your space as well as you’d hoped.
Poly & Bark appears to have an excellent return policy. They allow a 100-day window for customers to either exchange their furniture free of charge, or return it for a full refund. They accept returns and exchanges for any reason, although you must have the original packaging.
Article’s return policy is less lenient. You only have 30 days to exchange or return an item from Article. You can return or exchange an item for any reason, although you will be charged a shipping fee. They do request that customers have the original packaging to make an exchange or return, and if you don’t have the original packaging, then you’ll be charged an additional $50 repackaging fee.
The return policies are subject to change without my notice, so it is always possible they change in the future and contacting the companies directly will give you the best answer.
The Verdict– Which is Better?
Poly & Bark and Article are two online furniture retailers that have items available for nearly every room in your home. Each markets themselves as providers of high-quality furniture for a low cost. Article has more products available across every category, and their price ranges are generally lower as well. They do have a reasonable return policy, so if you’re planning on buying some new furniture online, you should go with Article.
